About the Event
The economic outlook in Brazil has changed dramatically in the past decade. A period of optimism and growth fueled by a domestic consumption boom and a positive commodities’ cycle ended abruptly in 2014, and was followed by the worst economic recession in the country’s history. Brazil is currently undertaking an important shift towards more liberal policies in order to deal with the fiscal and structural challenges that were brought about by this scenario. The lecture will focus on understanding the major issues in the current economic debate and the business opportunities that might arise from changes in policy.
